Consumer Code for Home Builders

Today new home construction in the UK is monitored, assessed and governed by some of the highest building regulations and consumer protection in the world

What is the Consumer Code?

The code was developed by a group of homebuilders, construction industry bodies and the Government. It came into effect in April 2010 to give new homeowners even more confidence when buying.

It means that all new home buyers:

  • know what service levels to expect form their homebuilder
  • know the build timescales and other important property and local information
  • know how to access speedy, low cost dispute resolution arrangements in the unlikely event that they are dissatisfied

We know that the Consumer Code gives Owl Homes customers additional reassurance
